The US EPA helps organize the annual National Ambient Air Monitoring Conference. This year the air monitoring conference happened in Portland, Oregon.
Our partner and customer Blue Tomorrow went to the conference and showcased air quality monitoring systems, air measurement projects, and the interactive website with real-time air quality for Arvin, California. Eric and Alex reported that the conference had a mix of industries, government agencies, and air districts. The main focus was on air quality monitoring applications using low-cost sensors.
This air quality monitoring conference was hosted by the Ambient Air Monitoring Group (AAMG), in cooperation with the National Association for Clean Air Agencies (NACAA) and the Association of Air Pollution Control Agencies (AAPCA). The conference provided an international gathering for decision-makers who deploy systems for monitoring toxic air and criteria pollutants.
There were representatives from the USA EPA, state, local, tribal, international and other government agencies. This conference provided a place to talk about deploying ambient air monitoring networks in light of recent changes to the NAAQS (National Ambient Air Quality Standards) that were created due to requirements of the Clean Air Act. The conference was a platform to share information and have discussions about managing air quality data, analyzing air sensor data, and monitoring system implementations. We’re grateful that the folks at Blue Tomorrow were able to go and share the effective air quality monitoring systems utilized by government agencies like the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
